Absolutely blown away! Hands down one of the best food experiences we've had in a long time. My husband, toddler, and I came here for our very first taste of Eastern European cuisine and wow, it did not disappoint. We ordered the cheese burek, mini cevapi, chicken soup, chicken schnitzel, and crepe and all of that for just $50?! That's unreal! The food was beautifully seasoned, and felt like it came straight from someone's grandma's kitchen. Everything is homemade, halal, hearty. Even the vegetables were full of flavor — not just a side dish, but a star on their own! The atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and the service was absolutely top-notch. This place is a hidden gem, and we’re already planning our next visit. 1000% recommend!

This place is one of the biggest hidden gems in Grand Rapids. We usually try to come here at least every other month or so. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We usually start with a cheese burek and absolutely love the cevappi. The service is always outstanding and the environment feels like you’re transported to another country. If you’re looking for authentic, homemade dishes prepared with love and skill, this family-owned local restaurant is the place to be. I stopped in for lunch - my first visit - and was warmly welcomed and seated right away. The staff took the time to walk me through the menu and offer recommendations, which I really appreciated. Every dish I ordered was absolutely delicious. I genuinely enjoyed every bite and had to stop myself from finishing the entire meal just so I could take some home for my husband to try! What really stood out beyond the food was the customer service. As I was leaving with my infant, one of the staff members kindly helped me carry my leftovers to the car - a small gesture that made a big impression. Dishes ordered: Beef Burek – Everything it should be: savory, juicy, and packed with flavorful filling wrapped in a perfectly crisp pastry. Geschnitzel – A rich, comforting dish that makes you want to slow down and savor every bite. Baklava – A classic dessert done right. Sweet, flaky, and so good you’ll want a second helping. Final Verdict: Al-Bo’s is a standout spot that you’ll be coming back to again and again.
